Recently described as “a fluid approach to presenting new music in fresh contexts and juxtapositions" (The New Yorker), Ensemble in Process... debuts its next event in the Greater Boston Area. "A Modern Lullaby" will be an evening of music with two sets pertaining to the complex myths and allegories of the legendary cradle song. Rose Hegele (soprano) and Brian Mark (piano) perform works by Meredith Monk*, Bjork, Peter DeRose, Erin Gee, Yann Tiersen*, Vartan Aghababian, Derek David, Missy Mazzoli, Jonathan Bailey Holland, and yours truly. Mark's, Three Authors/Three Songs will have its world premiere as a complete song cycle, joined by flutist Antonina Styczen.
Clarinet Duo David Angelo and Shannon Leigh perform the first set with works by Joseph Michaels, Eric Mandat, David Dogan, Anton Webern, Elliot Carter, and Ruby Fulton.
